Mining Tourism Potential Assessment of Raniganj Coalfield, India

This study focuses on the potential of mining tourism in oldest coalfield India. To conduct research, five mines from Raniganj have been selected based their comparatively high degree preservation, good connectivity, and quality to show interconnectedness with other forms such as geotourism heritage tourism. The attractions for each site are classified following Jolliffe Conlin (2011), whereas, assessment criteria prepared after Kubalíková (2017). guidelines Ministry Tourism India followed circuit demarcation. outcome highlights that although risk factors cannot be neglected some cases, represents diverse along having connectivity accessibility. However, result shows only around 50% feasibility tourism, mainly because non-availability proper infrastructure. Road network analysis is done two possible routes suggested. raises basic initial issues indicating coalfield. Initiatives by stakeholders terms an awareness campaign generation facilities necessary which may lead successful development these sites future.
